Charlene Prickett's old VHS, Serious Curves, uses heavy weights and two sets of 8 reps apiece. It's an hour long, but it can be easily broken up into two half-hour sessions because she does upper body work in the second half of the tape.

Hi Paula,
I posted this over on the weight training thread and thought I'd post it here too.
It seems that there are very few workouts that utilize heavier weights and less reps. I'm tired of so many reps and would love some suggestions for shorter, heavy, less rep workouts.
Any suggestions?
TIA!!

Thanks for the link Ruth. I agree with everything Mirabai said about starting out by doing too much too soon. That's what most people do, and that's why they quit right away. Most people seem to think that unless you jump right into half hour workouts everyday, and feel sore all the time that you're not really "exercising".

No Ruth, I haven't seen any of Mirabai's workouts. Thanks for the link, I'll check out the website.

This version of the website is fairly new. The forum had a lot more threads before my host server had a big melt-down that lost them all.
